Trouble In Mudbug was published in February of 2009. It is written by Jana DeLeon who apparently grew up in the bayous of Louisiana. This fact is relevant in her book which takes place right on the bayou. I have never even seen a bayou so I can't even imagine although the author did try to paint a picture. This book has 300 pages. This book is a quirky romance mystery that did, I will admit, make me laugh. How could you not when a simple scientist starts seeing the ghost of her sort-of ex-mother in-law...in spandex? Combine that with a not-so physic best friend, a mysterious hot new co-worker, a philandering doctor, a MIA sort-of ex-husband, and a long list of potential murderers and you've got a book that will surely entertain. There is some language and a scene not fit for kids but overall I'd say a fun easy read. Apparently there is a sequel called Mischief In Mudbug which I may just have to find!
